We all have interactions with people in our lives that are less than favourable. Arguments with family, fall outs with friends and break ups with a partner are all a part of life. We hope that we can come out of these situations with grace, but unfortunately that’s not always the way things work out. Hopefully time heals and allows both parties to move on.
Yesterday I learned that some people never grow up. Some people can say hurtful things, lie and laugh and think that you will just forgive them without any apology or even any acknowledgment of the terrible way they treated you. Yesterday I discovered that some people will continue to try and make you feel small even when you try and take the high road. It’s a hard pill to swallow when you realize that you can’t force someone to mature or, God forbid, act like a decent human being for 2 minutes. All you can really do is try to keep composed, carry yourself with some amount of dignity and be content in the decision you made to remove that person from your life. I made the right decision.
